Welcome to SuperSIPs Scotland

The building fabric of the future

Manufacturing quality SIPs

SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) can be used as structural walls, floors, roofs & internal partitions, either together or independently. They can also be used in timber or steel framed buildings. However the greatest savings in time, energy and materials used is achieved when the complete structure is made with SIPs. Any type of conventional finish can be applied to a SuperSIPs building shell.

An overview of our SIPs Panels

We are one of only a handful of UK-based manufacturers of Structural Insulated Panels. Our SIPs are manufactured using a polyurethane (PU) core that is bonded to facings of OSB (oriented strand board). This ‘sandwich’ creates an incredibly stong and thermally efficient panel that can then be cut to specification and used to quickly and efficiently erect any type of structure. SIPs panels are a relatively recent method of off-site manufacture. They have been in use in the United States since the 1950’s but have taken longer to catch on in the UK. The benefits of SIPs are many but mainly they are extremely thermally efficient, so will meet or exceed any current building regulations, they are quick to manufacture and to erect on-site and can reduce the construction costs involved in any project.
